New Job, New Sample
Hi all,
Quick update today. Monday I started a new job, which means for the last 6 weeks I've been trying to close off my previous one/train a replacement. Consequently the blog has been rather quiet. However, as I get more comfortable in my new location (people there are awesome), I should be able to get back to it.
I've uploaded a revised sample. Check it out here: Lancet
As for writing updates, here's the lowdown on the past month. I submitted my novel! I'm still waiting for confirmation that the publisher received it, but one must be patient. I probably made some rookie mistakes in the submission letter and the draft, but both follow the submission guidelines to the letter, so here's hoping. Also, I submitted a story to Julie Czerneda's next project (it's an anthology) called Tales from Plexis. Check out her site http://www.czerneda.com/. She's written some really wonderful books. One of my favorites is In the Company of Others. I've read it four or fives times already. Julie is also amazing - I messaged her and she was very kind in her replies. Awesome.
Finally, my grandma wants to read my book. Ninety Seven and not a Sci-Fi fan (I love you grandma Padmore), but she's decided she would like to see this before she passes on. Holy crap - talk about pressure.
Anyway, thanks for reading!
